[FANFICTION] - STANDALONE - FIRST CONTACT

Happy First Contact Day! On date 5 April 2063, the human race made the very first contact with an alien race, that of the Vulcans, as shown in the film Star Trek: First Contact, after the Enterprise crew managed to defeat the Borg Queen once more.

Of course, we couldn't help but write a very short fanfiction related to today's date and the film starring Sir Patrick Stewarts and the other actors of Star Trek: The Next Generation, with Alice Krige as one of the Federation's ultimate nemeses.

The story is set immediately after the Enterprise's return to the 24th century, with the Federation flagship heading to DS9 to bring Lieutenant Commander Worf and the other crewmembers of the U.S.S. Defiant home. The Klingon, for years under the command of Captain Picard until the destruction of the Enterprise-D on Veridian III, has an interesting question for its Captain.

Unlike some of my other fanfiction, this one doesn't per se change the fabric of what we've seen during the TV series or related movies. I simply had fun imagining, in honor of First Contact Day, a possible conversation between Picard, who is a history and archaeology enthusiast anyway, and Worf, who grew up with humans after the destruction of his home and the death of his family.

Hope you enjoy it! Again, happy First Contact Day to all of you!

PLOT: After the events of Star Trek: First Contact, in which Captain Picard and its crew permitted the first contact between the Human race and the Vulcans, the U.S.S. Enterprise is heading to Deep Space 9. Lt. Cmdr. Worf, later Security and Tactical Chief under the command of Captain Picard and now Chief of Strategic Operation aboard DS9, asked an interesting question to Captain Picard about heroism, Zefram Cochrane and the Celebration for the First Contact Day.
